Come visit a meeting the first time is free. We have an orientation meeting for first time attendees to explain the bebefits and invite you to learn more about how things work.
Our membership is pro-rated for first time members (i.e., becoming a member for the first time in June is half the membership fee). Membership is renewed annually in January. You fill out an AZPPA membership application, it is reviewed and approved by the board.

Explanation of membership levels may be found on the Membership Application.

Contact Connie Zimmerlich, Membership Chair, with questions regarding membership, connie@clickchickphotography.com or call 480-748-9401.

How do I update my contact information in the provider directory?

The online membership is designed to allow you to update your own profile at your convenience.

Go to http://www.arizonappa.com and click on Find a Photographer. This will display the online membership directory. Search for your studio name, click on 'Details' on the right-side of your listing. This will bring up the detailed profile of your studio. Click on Edit. A screen will appear asking you to enter a password. Click on that password field (this step is important), then in all upper-case characters type AZPPA. This is the default password. You may change to your own personal password. Then hit enter. You will now be able to change information on your profile - click on save when completed.

The Directory may be searched to find members who are interested in assisting and/or who are looking for assistants, specific towns, etc. You may do this by selecting Extended on the main directory screen and select the fields.

If you have any further questions regarding changing your profile information, please feel fee to email Bob Zimmerlich directly a bob@clickchickphotography.com or connie@clickchickphotography.com or call 480-748-9401.

How do I register for events?
Members and others included in the constant contact list of contacts will receive monthly notices for meetings. Within that email there is a link “Register Now” which will take you to the registration site. You will receive an email confirming their registration after this process. Attendees may also go the association website http://www.arizonappa.com Then where it indicates to register now for upcoming monthly meeting. This will take you to the registration link. Or click on any registration link on the AZPPA education page.

It is important to register each individual separately unless an option is provided to register an additional member in the same screen. This will help with accurate attendance count.

How much does it cost to attend a monthly meeting?
Monthly meetings are free for the first time, 'get to know us' meeting and $45 there after if you decide not to become a member.

What mentoring programs are available?

"What is speed mentoring?"
It's 15 minutes with a qualified photographer to ask whatever your heart desires. Well, about photography that is.

Who can participate?
Anyone who is a paid member of the AZPPA.

Who are the Mentors?
We will have a new mentor(s) every month.

Why should I participate?
It's a great opportunity to meet some of the AWESOME photographers that we have right here in our very own association who are more that willing to share their success with you. Plus, did I mention that you get to pretty much ask whatever you want about photography! There is NO holding back.

How do I sign-up?
You can sign-up at the monthly meeting or email Lisa. There is a limited number on who can participate monthly so it's on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have been mentored recently those who have not had an opportunity will have first chance.

What if I'm interested in being a mentor?
Fantastic!! You can contact Lisa Scaaf Lisa@pgphotographyaz.com She would be so happy to work something out with you.

How do I find out if any photographers need assistants?

ASK. Networking at meetings and AZPPA event is one of the best ways to get to know other photographers and, more important, let them get to know you and that you are available as an assistant or intern.

How do I find a photographer who is willing to assist me on a session?

Networking at meetings and AZPPA events is one of the best ways to get to know other photographers and, more important, let them get to know you. Then should you be in need there are many people you can call on. Many times you can also make calls using the AZPPA 'Find a Photographer' feature on the AZPPA web site.

Where can I find a list of upcoming educational opportunities?

What is the difference between AzPPA, PPA, and SWPPA?
A great question that sometimes leads to confusion. All three organizations are there to help photographers. Let's start at the top.

PPA is the Professional Photographers of America http://www.ppa.com and is the National/International organization. Some of the benefits include, but are definitely not limited to: • Access to reduced rates for various types of insurance like health or equipment. • Indemnification. If you are sued for lack of performance or things that are beyond control you receive legal support. • Discounted rates on Credit Card Merchant accounts. • Lobbying in Washington DC for photographer's rights and Copyright legislation. • PPA maintains and administers the Certified Professional Photographer program along with other photographer credentials. • PPA runs one of the largest print competitions. • Puts on a National convention covering three plus days every year. Check the PPA web site for more information.

SWPPA is the Southwest District of the PPA http://swppa.com. It is responsible for putting on a convention every year along with a "Qualifying" Print Competition that gives you a head start for National print merits. If you receive a 'Seal' at district when you enter that sealed print at the next PPA International Print Competition you automatically receive a national merit toward your Master of Photography Degree.

And finally there's us, AZPPA the Arizona Professional Photographers Association. This is the local state organization. We also put on a yearly convention, and print competition, several AZPPA All Day programs, monthly education programs, studio tours and other education events. In addition, this is your opportunity to meet and network with local photographers on a regular basis. We believe there is more 'Bang for your Buck' by joining AZPPA first as there are many more ongoing educational opportunities. As your business grows and needs more services and you wish to start participating on the National level then you would join the PPA also.

Many of our professional members belong to all three and other photography organizations in their quest to stay on top of our ever-changing industry.
